Methodist Youth Fellowship

WHAT & WHY

The Methodist Youth Fellowship (MYF) is a group of 7th – 12th grade students who meet regularly for Bible study, social times, service projects and fund raisers. Our goal is to nurture a committed personal relationship with Jesus among the youth of our church through spiritual development, Christian leadership skills and Christian peer support.

WHEN

During the school year, we meet most Sunday nights from 6:00 – 8:00 pm for Bible study, discussion, prayer and hang-out time.  We'll play games and have snacks first; Bible studies will start around 6:45.  Special activities are planned for the summer months.

WHERE

The group meets in the Youth Room of the Fellowship Hall.

 

CALENDAR

JUNE
     Youth Sunday: June 11th. Two services that day – 8:30 and 10:00!! We do both. Chime rehearsals will be Wednesdays, May 31st and June 7th, from 6:15 – 6:45 p.m.
     Girls Night: Saturday, June 24th. Meet at Kathleen Dolan’s (214 Weatherby Ave., Swedesboro) at 7:00 p.m. Girls are welcome to spend the night and come to church together the next day.\
 
 
 
JULY
     Mini-Golf & Ice Cream*: Sunday, July 9th, 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. Meet at Gino’s Mini Golf, 669 Bridgeton Pike, Mantua. Cost will be $7 for mini golf and ice cream.
     VBS: July 16th – 20th. 5:45 – 8:00 p.m. each night. 6th graders: this is your last year in a class. Anyone older than that who is interested in helping is welcome as well!
     Pool Party*: Sunday, July 23rd, 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the DuBeau’s (180 Harrisonville Road, Mullica Hill). Let me know if you can bring a covered dish.
     Wednesday Night Bible Studies: Scheduled for July 26th and August 2nd. We play outdoor games and have snacks, then Bible study. 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
 
 
AUGUST
     Laser Tag*: Trip to Neshaminy on Tuesday, August 8th. Cost is $15 per person for two double-length games. We’ll meet at 12:30 at the Hall for lunch and return around 5:00 p.m.
     Rock Climbing*: Sunday, August 20th, 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. We’ll go to Elite Climbing Center in Maple Shade. Cost will be $20 per person and a waiver must be signed by a parent in advance.
 
 
SEPTEMBER
     Open Air Market*: Saturday, September 9th, 8:00 – noon. We run the food table as part of this fund raiser for the church.
     Fall Kick-Off Dinner*: Sunday, September 10th, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Covered dish dinner for the whole family at the Hall, followed by fun and games!
 
(Parents are always welcome to join us!! We will need drivers/chaperones for some of these events. Younger siblings may come to the events marked with a * if a parent comes as well.)
