Peach Festival will be held on Saturday, August 5th, 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Contact Carol or Jerry McGrath (609-502-1596) with any questions. Lots of help will be needed! Here’s what you can do:
~~ attend the organizational meeting today at 11:15 in the back classroom.
~~ take tickets to sell in advance. Invite your friends and neighbors.
~~ donate something for the Basket Auction.
~~ come bake with us on Friday, August 4th. A group will be meeting in the Hall kitchen to bake pies, cobblers and breads.
~~ bake goodies at home to donate. Peaches will be available next week for those who can help. Please sign up in the Narthex if you plan to contribute baked goods.
~~ come out on August 5th to help. Lots of workers are needed that day. If you can’t stay to help, come to eat! Tickets for the dessert buffet cost $8 for adults and $4 for children. In addition, hot sandwich platters will be for sale. There will be a Craft Table, a Bake Table, a Basket Auction and a Book Signing as well.

Pitman Camp Meetings continue every Sunday night through August. The worship service begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Auditorium in the center of the grove. Tonight’s speaker is Rev. Jim Bolton from Pitman UMC.

MYF Events:
~~ Pool Party: MYF kids and their families are invited to the home of Kristy and Rich DuBeau (180 Harrisonville Road, Mullica Hill) this afternoon from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wear your swimsuit and bring a towel. We plan to eat around 5:00 p.m. See Mildred Herman so we know how many from your family are coming and what you can bring to share for supper. This will also be our farewell to Kathleen Dolan, as she will be moving to Seattle this week.
~~ Summer Bible Studies: Two mid-summer Bible studies have been scheduled for Wednesdays, July 26th and August 2nd. Kids are welcome to gather at the parsonage (121 Richwood Road) those evenings from 6:30 – 8:30. We’ll play games, have snacks and study a Bible character.

Softball Season: This Tuesday is our last scheduled game. Our record sits at 5 – 5. This week’s game is away against Ranch Hope. Schedules and updates are posted on the church’s web site.  Contact Jim Stiles ( This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or 625-1137) if you have questions.

Vacation Bible School was a great success this year! We had over 60 kids attend, and 30 adults and teenagers taught or helped throughout the week. You are all appreciated! Special thanks go to:
~~ Kelly Clement and Alyssa Saccomanno, our co-directors. You did a great job!
~~ All of the teachers, helpers and teenagers who gave their time this week to work with our children.
~~ The LIFE Class for providing and serving dinners each night, and for helping to pay for the tee shirts.
~~ Everyone who brought in items in support of our food drive. All donations were delivered to Peter’s Pantry.
~~ Those who supported Spirit Night at Chick-fil-A last week.

Church Membership: We traditionally offer Membership Classes in the spring and fall. However, we are adding Summer Membership this year. Two classes will be held on Sundays at 11:15, August 13th and 20th, with Membership Sunday on August 27th. Please let the pastor know if you would like to join the church.

Pulpit Area Chairs are being refurbished as memorials. Thanks to all who gave for this project. Donors, please check with the pastor to ensure that we have the correct memorial information.

Ushers for 8:30 Service: If you are willing to collect the offering for the 8:30 service this summer, please sign up in the Narthex. If you can’t do the whole month, just write in the dates you are available.

Family Night Planning: If you would like to help plan this year’s Family Night programs, please join us at a planning meeting on Tuesday, August 1st, at 7:00 p.m. in the Conference Room at the Hall. Come with any ideas and suggestions!

Committee on Lay Leadership will meet on Monday, August 14th, at 7:00 p.m. Members are: Ken Aumack, Karen Borrelli, Donna Kavlunas, Dave Luttenberger, Karen Musick, Andrea Pratta, Katie Reuter, Shannon Spiotto, Rosemary Stewart and Pam Zook. Please let the pastor know if you are able or not able to attend.

Open Air Market: This annual event will be held on Saturday, September 9th. Two things you can do now to help:
~~ Gather any items you have to donate for the Yard Sale and bring them to church. Contact Sylvia Reed (264-4013) or the church office (589-0874) for drop-off help.
~~ Spread the word to any craft vendors you know who may be interested in setting up a table that day. Contact Michele Giaquinto (981-9437) to sign up. The more vendors we have, the more people we draw that day!

Chicken Pot Pie Dinner: Our fall Pot Pie Dinner has been scheduled for October 14th. We are still looking for a team willing to work with Laura Cunard to make this happen. We want to break down the jobs into manageable chunks so they don’t all fall on one or two people. A group of four or five leaders will help this event flow smoothly and take some of the burden from Laura.

ShopRite Gift Cards work just like cash, and we earn 5% on every dollar. Buy them here and help raise funds for the church! Cards are available from Karen Luttenberger, Jennifer Guht, Karen Borrelli, Bunnie Powell or Suzanne Aumack. Please guard them as cash; they cannot be replaced if lost. Please make your checks out to RUMC.

LOTS OF WAYS TO HELP OTHERS

~~ Prayer Boxes: Andrea Weaver has started a prayer ministry for those outside of our church who may not have a support group they can go to when in need of prayer. She has placed a few small boxes in some local businesses in which people can put prayer requests. If you can help, please contact Andrea at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . She is looking for a few more people willing to pray for requests as they come in.

~~ Shoe Collection: A box is in the Narthex for your donations of gently-used athletic shoes. When the box is full, it will be shipped to WaterStep, an organization that uses the proceeds to provide safe drinking water to communities that need it.

~~ Clothing Collection: Fashion Republic will soon come to collect our items. They accept: all clothing in good condition, shoes, accessories (belts, hats, gloves, ties), household items (made of fabric in good condition such as blankets, towels, tablecloths, pillows), and children’s toys. Bring anything you have to donate in a large trash bag and put it in the middle downstairs classroom.

~~ Brown Bag Challenge: Angels of God in Pitman is organizing this program to provide non-perishable food items to low income families during the summer. Bags are available in the Coffee Room and a list of the needed items is on each bag. You can take one and fill it or you can bring items into church to add to a bag. This program runs through the end of August. To read more about how you can help Angels of God, go to https://angelsofgod.org.

~~ Kids Alley Back-to-School Drive: The LIFE Class is heading this collection for Kids Alley. Backpacks and all kinds of school supplies are welcome, and will be distributed to children in Camden who need them. All items are due back to church by August 13th. Collection boxes are in the Narthex and Sunday School wing. Flyers are available in the Narthex if you have questions.

~~ Collection for the Atlantic City Rescue Mission:  A bin in the Narthex is for the following new items for homeless men: socks, underwear and undershirts (sizes M to 2X).
