We
had another successful VBS this year and thank all of our
volunteers, parents and supporters. We had about 65 kids attend
and 40 adults and teenagers who taught, helped or cooked during
the week. Everyone had a great time and the kids learned a lot.
Each of the five evening sessions included an opening and
closing program, where we learned songs, saw a puppet show,
listened to announcements and prayed. The classes then rotated
between a Bible lesson, crafts, outdoor play time and snacks.
The theme this year was Hero Headquarters, and we learned about
unlikely Bible heroes who are often overlooked. They were not
famous leaders, but their small acts were used by God to do
wonderful things!
For our service project this year, we collected non-perishable
food items for a local food pantry and items for a near-by
family whose home had recently been destroyed by a fire. Two
carts of items were given to the Red Cross for this family, and
1,322 cans were delivered to Peter’s Pantry in Elmer!
Special thanks to:
~ Jennifer Guht (our VBS Director) and her team of volunteers.
~ The LIFE Class for again donating tee shirts.
~ Everyone who provided the dinners each night. This was really
appreciated by our workers.
~ ShopRite of Mullica Hill and Advantage Embroidery for their
support.
Watch for next year’s VBS dates to be announced.
