downstairs at 10:30 today for a special First Sunday Event on the poor
and hungry.
Christian Unity
Service: Everyone is invited
to attend this special service, to be held next Sunday at 4:00 p.m. at
Trinity UMC in Mullica Hill.
Softball
Sign-ups: A sign-up sheet
has been posted in the Narthex and the Hall entry for the 2010 Season of
the All Faiths Co-Ed Softball League. Anyone (male or female) 16 and
over, or as young as 14 with parental consent, is invited to join the
team. The first game is scheduled for April 13th and
practices will be held before that. Contact Jim Stiles (856) 478-0880 or
(856) 625-1137 or e-mail him at
stiles.jjr2@verizon.net if you have any questions.
Knit & Crochet
Ministry: Anyone interested
in joining this group is welcome to meet this week on Tuesday (7:00
p.m.) or Friday (10:00 a.m.). These are all work sessions, so bring
whatever project you are currently making. One of the ladies will be
making pillow cases for recovering cancer patients. Anyone wishing to
donate fabric for these should give it to Bobbie Pohl. The fabric
should be one yard of 45” wide material, cotton, synthetic or blend
(weight similar to conventional bedding).
Trustees
will meet this Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
in the Conference Room at the Hall. Members are: Ken Aumack, John
DeGirolamo, Bill Fox, Darryl Harper, Donna Kavlunas, Gene Lalicker, John
Lockman, Jim Stiles, and Joe Willmot.
Bible Studies:
Everyone is encouraged to join a Bible study group! We have three that
meet regularly:
~~Wednesday
morning, 10:00 – 11:00. Studying Genesis. All are welcome.
~~Thursday evening,
7:00 – 8:00. Studying Acts. Everyone is welcome.
~~Thursday evening,
7:30 – 9:00. College & Career. Studying Integrity.
Mom’s Coffee:
All moms are welcome to meet at the home of Terry Klodnicki (58 Woodland
Ave., Mullica Hill) this Friday morning. Come around 8:45 for breakfast
treats, coffee and conversation.
In Concert:
Michael Jones and Sandi Sweet
will appear in concert at the Cross Keys UMC on Saturday, March 13th,
at 7:00 p.m. Dessert will be served and a love offering will be
received. Everyone is welcome.
30-Hour Famine:
Our MYF kids are now looking for sponsors for this event, to be held this
Friday and Saturday. This year, we have designated all our funds to be
given through World Vision to the Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund. Your
gift will help distribute life-saving food, medicines, and family
survival kits — including clean water, blankets, cooking supplies, and
tents — to children and families devastated by the earthquake. World
Vision has worked in Haiti for 30 years and has more than 800 staff on
the ground. Your support will help them meet the immediate, urgent
needs of the earthquake survivors, and also enable World Vision to help
the people of Haiti rebuild and recover in the weeks and months to come.
MYFers will meet at the Hall this Friday
at 6:00 p.m. for lessons and games. (Bring your Famine Packets, $12 for
bowling, sleeping bag and pillow, and clothes and toiletries to spend
the night.) Also that night the group will go bowling. On Saturday, we
will collect food for Peter’s Pantry by going door to door in local
neighborhoods. After delivering all the non-perishables, the kids will
go on a scavenger hunt. A covered dish dinner (families are encouraged
to join us – and bring the food!) has been scheduled for 6:00 p.m. in
the Hall to break the fast.
Fine Arts Night:
Gloucester County Christian
School invites you to attend their Fine Arts program, to be held on
Thursday, March 18th, at 7:00 p.m. at Hardingville Bible
Church. Members of the school choir, hand bell choirs, and drama teams
will present the program, which showcases the talent competing at the
state level that week.
Pot Pie Dinner:
Tickets are now available
for this popular dinner, to be held on Saturday, March 20th,
from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. Cost is $12 for adults and take-outs, and $6 for
children. See Dot Reuter if you can take a pack of tickets to sell to
your friends and neighbors. Cooks, set-up and clean-up crews and bakers
(for dessert) are needed for the day. Please sign up in the Narthex or
the Hall entry if you are willing to provide a cake for dessert (about
35 will be needed!).
Talent Night:
Our Annual Talent Show will be held on Sunday, March 21st.
Anyone interested in being on the program should sign up with Mildred
Herman. Share your music, dance, or drama talent with your church
family!
Easter Egg Hunt:
The annual Easter Egg Hunt will take place on Saturday, March 27th.
The Young Adult group will be hosting the event, and are looking for
donations of cash, wrapped candy and small, non-edible items like
stickers and erasers. Items should be brought to church by March 21st.
See Dawn Valente.
Easter Basket
Mission Project: Our Missions
Committee will again be putting together Easter Baskets to give to needy
children through Peter’s Pantry. Please bring wrapped candy, filled
plastic eggs, little toys or stuffed animals, grass and baskets by
March 14th. Be sure to put these items in the Mission
Collection (not the Easter Egg Hunt collection).
Opportunity to
Serve: South Jersey
Healthcare HospiceCare is looking for volunteers. These volunteers
provide care and support services to patients and their caregivers in
their homes or in area nursing homes. A new program entitled
Transitions will offer similar services to patients not served by
hospice but in need of help. Training is offered to all volunteers.
For more information, contact Brenda Freitag.
Brick Pavers:
Your donation of only $150
for a 4x8” brick or $300 for an 8x8” brick will help the church maintain
the Hall. This discounted price is only good until July 25th.
Pick up an order form or see Adele Harper.
Grocery
Certificates: By purchasing
ShopRite certificates here, you can contribute to the church at no cost
to you. The cards work just like cash, and we earn 5% on every dollar.
Cards are available any time from Karen Luttenberger, Sandy Russell,
Jennifer Guht, Michele Giaquinto or Dot Reuter. |
