church by mail (PO Box 7, Richwood, NJ 08074). Thanks for your help
with this!
30-hour Famine:
The MYF will again be participating in World Vision’s 30-hour Famine.
Our kids are collecting money from sponsors (you) to help the world’s
poor and hungry. Just $30 can help bring emergency food aid to a
disaster zone, or give families the tools they need to feed themselves
and banish hunger from their communities for good. World Vision finds
lasting ways to improve lives by digging wells, providing clothing,
delivering seeds and food, and responding to disasters. Our Famine will
be held from February 24th – 25th and our kids
will be looking for sponsors until then.
Those doing the Famine should meet at the Hall on Friday at 6:00
p.m. Bring your overnight stuff (clothes, sleeping bag, pillow,
toiletries, etc.), your collection envelopes, and $12 for bowling.
Anyone interested is welcome to join us on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. for our
“break the fast” dinner in the Hall. Please sign up with Tammie Stiles
(478-0880).
District Day of Learning:
On Saturday, March 3rd, the Pitman UMC will host the District
Day of Learning from 8:30 – 3:00. Based on the theme “The Church’s
Gifts…Fruitbearing Ministries,” attendees can choose from many workshops
offered in the morning and afternoon sessions. Registration (which
includes lunch) is $10 before February 24th and $15 after
that date. This year child care will be available at no charge for
those in Kindergarten through 6th grade. Brochures are
available in the Narthex and the Hall entry.
Pot Pie Dinner:
Tickets are now available for the March 17th Chicken Pot Pie
Dinner. Cost will be $12 for adults and $6 for children. Be sure to
get your tickets in advance for this popular event. You can help by
taking tickets to sell to your friends and neighbors.
Upcoming Blood Drive:
The Red Cross will sponsor a blood drive on Friday, March 23rd,
from 1:30 to 7:30 in the Hall. More details will follow. If you are
interested in helping recruit donors, please contact Karen Luttenberger
at 464-9593.
Delanco Camp Annual Fundraiser Dinner: Delanco Camp will host
its annual fundraiser dinner on Saturday, March 31st, at 6:30
p.m. It will be held at Villa Manor in Winslow Township. Tickets are
$40 per person. The event includes a sit-down dinner, fellowship, a
short motivational presentation on the camp’s ministry and needs, and a
Silent Auction featuring some very nice gift baskets and prizes. David
Luttenberger has tickets. A portion of the cost of the tickets is
tax-deductable.
Ladies Banquet:
The LIFE Class is sponsoring a banquet for all women and girls on
Saturday, May 12th. Mark your calendar and plan to join us
for a roast beef dinner, a fashion show (featuring old wedding dresses,
period clothing and a few fun surprises), and a basket auction. If you
can help by providing clothing for the fashion show or by donating a
gift basket, please see Michele Giaquinto or Nanci Powell.
Grocery Certificates:
ShopRite grocery cards work just like cash, and we earn 5% on every
dollar. That can add up to a lot of money for the church if more people
used them! See Karen Luttenberger, Sandy Russell, or Jennifer Guht to
purchase yours. Please guard them as cash; they cannot be replaced if
lost.
Summer Camp:
Delanco Camp is an inter-denominational Christian camp that aims to
bring people into relationship with Jesus Christ and equip them to live
holy lives. They have announced their schedule for 2012:
